Description:

The School District of Philadelphia (District) Office of Capital Programs is requesting a contract extension for the engineer of record, Gannett Fleming, for professional design services provided for the HVAC and electrical upgrade project at the Cook-Wissahickon Elementary School.  The construction schedule extension is due to supply chain delays for the mechanical equipment and boilers.  Before COVID, the equipment was manufactured and delivered within 12 to 24 weeks of the order.  Post-COVID, the equipment delivery time was increased to a 52-to-60-week period.  New safety protocols and procedures instituted in the wake of the COVID pandemic also delayed the work.  The requested revised completion date is December 31, 2023.  This HVAC Renovation is comprised of the removal and replacement of the existing building HVAC system, which includes distribution piping, boilers, and system controls.  The project also featured new electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and accessories as required to connect HVAC equipment.
