| | | | | | | | | Description:
The School District of Philadelphia plans to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to improve eight schools through the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act (GESA) Program. This allows for rapid design and construction to comply with the federal requirement that all construction work must be completed by September 30, 2024. The scope of work includes upgrading and replacing building systems to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, filtering, and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and related electrical work. This work shall incorporate school facility improvements to enable school building systems to reduce the risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, and to support student health needs. The schools selected were prioritized by the size of the school, the facilities conditions assessments, and maintenance backlog records.
Guardrail 1: Welcoming and Supportive Schools - Every school will be a safe, welcoming, and healthy place where our students, staff and community want to be and learn each day.
