The Administration recommends that the Board of Education ratify and authorize the execution and performance of an amended contract by The School District of Philadelphia, through the Superintendent or his designee, subject to funding, as follows:

Purpose:

To extend the time and increase the fee for O and S Associates, for professional design services provided for the Bayard Taylor Elementary roof replacement

Original Start Date: 10/26/2018

Original End Date: 8/20/2020

Amended End Date: 4/30/2023

Currently Authorized Compensation: $69,750

Additional Compensation: $44,250

Total New Compensation: $114,000

Description:

The Office of Capital Programs is requesting a fee increase for the architect of record, O & S Associates, for professional design services provided for the Bayard Taylor Elementary roof replacement project. The additional design fee was necessitated by the increase from the estimated project cost from $910,000 to $1,500,00 due to increased scope. The resulting design fee increased from $69,750 to $114,000. The contract scope was increased which required a construction time extension. The administrative design services period have been extended to align to the new construction completion date.
