| | | | | | | | | Description:
The Department of Transportation Services is seeking authorization to use previously allocated Capital funds and approved grant funds to purchase school buses from Rohrer Bus, Inc., Wolfington Body Company, Brightbill Transportation, Inc., and the Lion Electric Company. These vendors are registered with COSTARS, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's cooperative purchasing program. Transportation Services continues to select old diesel school buses targeted for replacement due to age, reliability, and maintenance costs, and replace them with alternative energy vehicles. Alternative energy school buses provide cleaner, healthier air to our students and communities. The success of the authorization is measured by the ability of Transportation Services to continue to fulfill the District's mission of providing safe and efficient transportation. This authorization directly supports the Board of Education's Guardrail 1: Welcoming and Supportive Schools. Every school will be a safe, welcoming, and healthy place where our students, staff, and community want to be and learn each day.
