| | | | | | | | | Description: The Office of Environmental Services has identified the need to request a no-cost time extension for the general service contracts for asbestos abatement at various schools. These contractors provide time and material, on an as-needed basis, for immediate response capabilities for asbestos abatement work. Both planned and unplanned abatement projects are performed through these contracts as a supplement to the District's in house abatement team. Examples of work performed through these contracts include large scale mold remediation projects and the abatement of asbestos contamination and/or damaged asbestos containing building materials. The services provided must adhere to all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations. Using a pool of quality firms is the most efficient for the District to complete emergency asbestos abatement activities in order to meet project schedules and requirements. The approved firms' services will be evaluated based on their ability to meet project milestones and remain within the approved budget. This work is in support of the Operations Division goal of providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
