The Administration recommends that the Board of Education ratify the acceptance of a grant by The School District of Philadelphia, through the Superintendent or his designee, as follows:

Schools and surrounding corridors of Motivation High School; Sayre, William L. High School; Roxborough High School; and Lincoln, Abraham High School
Description:
The District will be supported in establishing a Safe Path program by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) under the Commission’s FY 2021 Gun Violence Reduction Program. With PCCD support, the Office of School Safety will bring organizational resources and structure, and with established, trusted community-based partners contract to hire Safe Passage staff, strategically placed in key corridors impacted by violence and criminal activity to support safe passage for students, positively engage with students and the community, and deter violence and illegal activity.
This grant aligns with Guardrail 1 - Safe and Welcoming Schools. The award and Safe Program it will help establish is to ensure that students in areas most affected by violence and negative activity surrounding schools receive additional attention and support to keep students safe and engaged positively.
