| | | | | | | | | Description:
The Office of Information Technology has identified a need for streamlined and cost-effective access to purchase technology hardware, software and related maintenance services. This annual contract award utilizes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s COSTARS-3, COSTARS-6, and COSTARS-8 governmental cooperative master agreements, to allow schools and offices cost-effective and streamlined access to purchase technology hardware, software, and related maintenance services. With access to several hundred vendors and product lines, equipment and services may include special purpose computing equipment, enterprise servers and data storage platforms, assistive technology, productivity and application software, cloud subscription services, telecommunications and networking hardware, HVAC and electrical system components, and consumables and spare parts. Utilizing the wide array of technology commodities and services that have been bid and vetted by the Commonwealth’s Department of General Services, state and local governmental agencies have efficient and aggregated purchasing power through the COSTARS program, that is not generally available to individual entities or feasible in terms of localized solicitations. When multiple resellers are represented under a COSTARS contract for a specific product or service need, the District has been able to secure an M/WBE participation rate of over 35% on this contract award.
