The Department of Facilities Management and Services has a need to increase funding of its HVAC under 50 tons contract. This action item ensures that HVAC maintenance and repairs in schools will continue without interruption thereby keeping facilities open and conducive to learning. This contract was introduced for the first time in FY21 and a spend of $1,000,000 per year was estimated at that time. Due to the increase in repairs to HVAC systems and air balancing work to meet COVID-19 guidelines, a need has been identified to increase funding for this contract. The contractors will be assigned work by the Maintenance Department, which will also monitor the work for quality and completeness.
