| | | | | | | | | Description:
The Department of Transportation Services ("Transportation Services") provides yellow school bus transportation to eligible students attending District managed schools. The average age of the District's yellow school bus fleet is 11.07 years. Transportation Services has identified a need to purchase new school buses to replace the vehicles that have exceeded their useful life. The purchases will be made based on the lowest responsive quote from the manufacturers' distributors on the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contracts. The purchases will include a grant-funded purchase of electric buses. The cost for the buses have been quoted at approximately $365,000 each for electric, and approximately $107,000 each for unleaded fuel. The District plans to purchase five (5) electric and thirteen (13) unleaded fuel buses.
