The Administration recommends that the Board of Education, acting in its capacity as Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Intermediate Unit No. 26 (IU 26), authorize IU 26, through the Executive Director or his designee, to execute and perform contracts, subject to funding, as follows:

Purpose:

To provide Act 89 auxiliary services to non-public school students

Start Date: 7/1/2021

End Date: 6/30/2022

Compensation not to exceed: All entities will be paid out of an aggregate amount not to exceed $18,000,000.

Description:

IU 26 receives Act 89 state funds to provide auxiliary services to Philadelphia non-public schools.  Auxiliary services include remedial reading and mathematics, counseling, psychological services, speech and mobility training.  IU 26 provides these services through contracts with contractors.  Non-public schools select the contractor to provide services annually.  IU 26 is responsible for managing the relationship between the non-public schools and the contractors and for ensuring the contractor provides the services required.
