 Description:

School District of Philadelphia students are confronted with the traumatic impacts of violence every day.  In the City of Philadelphia, two of every three District students have experienced traumatic events. It is imperative that we continue to provide our staff with training on trauma-informed practices and how to best support our  students and families.  Lakeside will provide the staff in the Comprehensive Supports and Improvement (CSI) designated schools, listed above, their NeuroLogic training program. This program includes, four hours of intensive trauma training, pre-recorded videos with guiding documents, and nine hours of coaching.

The CSI designated schools began receiving these services in school year 19-20; however, all identified schools did not receive all of the anticipated services due to the pandemic and the need for remote learning.  The previous contract expired June 30, 2020.  A new contract will allow for Lakeside to continue to provide the much needed services that students need and school leaders anticipate.  An evaluation of the effectiveness of the training components was also underway pre-pandemic and will be completed.

Anchor Goal(s) Supported: Anchor Goal 1 - 100% of students will graduate ready for college or career
