Description:
The District needed to issue licenses for access to 92 school facilities for use as polling locations for Election Day on June 2, 2020, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The City Commissioners agreed to pay the School District $56,364.49 in overtime costs for custodial services and $7,261.20 in reimbursement for the costs of table and chair rentals. Board of Education Policy 707 and the Administrative Procedures to Policy 707 call for the School District to enter into an agreement for election day use and to seek reimbursement for the District’s costs. This ratification is necessitated due to late identification of changes in polling locations and increased costs associated with District buildings during the COVID-19 outbreak.
