The Administration recommends that the Board of Education ratify the execution and authorize the performance of a contract by The School District of Philadelphia, through the Superintendent or his designee, as follows:

The Window Group, Inc.

Purpose:
To purchase supplies for school windows

Start date: 7/1/2020

End date: 6/30/2021
Compensation not to exceed: $250,000

Description:
The Office of Facilities Management and Services has identified a need for a reliable source for window hardware.The volume of purchases of this material exceeds the bidding threshold and therefore requires a solicitation and Board approval prior to purchase. However, per Board Policy 611, this purchase was reviewed by the Office of Procurement Services and deemed an emergency procurement necessary to ready schools for operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The window supplies are necessary for school windows to function properly and support the flow of fresh air.  This contract supports the Operations goal of providing 100% of students a safe, healthy and welcoming learning environment.
