These contractors will provide critical content and resources to meet the pressing need for wellness and social-emotional supports for both students and staff following a prolonged absence from school and multiple community and individual traumas. The contractors will work with District and school-level staff to develop programming that is tailored to the needs of our staff and students. Each provider will develop programming and provide support for principal and staff training, and classroom activities for students following reopening. These services are:
- Transforming Education, Inc. will develop a virtual professional development, planning, and support module focused on principles and practices of comprehensive social-emotional learning for grades K-5, as well as integration of social-emotional learning with academic contact. Transforming Education will also develop a suite of classroom activities and resources to support K-5 teachers in using social-emotional strategies throughout the school
- Child and Family Resiliency Services will develop a virtual professional development, planning and support module focused on adult wellness and mental health.
- Center for Supportive Schools will facilitate virtual support sessions for school leaders, staff, and students during the month of August, and will train and support interested individuals to facilitate support sessions in their school communities.
- Outward Bound will develop a virtual professional development, planning, and support module focused on principles and practices of comprehensive social-emotional learning for grades 6-12, as well as integration of social-emotional learning with academic contact. Outward Bound will also develop a suite of classroom activities and resources to support 6-12 teachers in using social-emotional strategies throughout the school day.
*All vendors included in this Action Item will design content that can be applied to virtual settings as well as live classroom settings.
