 Description:

The School District of Philadelphia Department of Transportation Services is committed to the safe transport of students for the 2020-21 school year.   Based on guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), the department is revising our service and scheduling plans to implement social distancing and reduce the number of students transported by yellow buses, vans, and cabs.

In order to implement social distancing on school vehicles and allow the requisite time for cleaning between routes, we are transitioning to a three tier scheduling model. This means that a school vehicle that previously transported one group of students, will now transport three groups of students at assigned times within one of three tiers.  In order to assign students to the correct route and tier, additional enhancements within our routing software is required.

Anchor Goal(s) Supported: Anchor Goal 1 - 100% of students will graduate ready for college or career, Anchor Goal 2 - 100% of 8-year olds will read on or above grade level
