| | | | | | | | | Description:
The District seeks a contractor to film in approximately 75 additional classrooms or coaching meetings across the District to expand the current exemplary teaching video on-line library. The exemplary teaching video library contains short videos of School District of Philadelphia teachers, teaching in the classroom. The videos will need to be edited, subtitled, produced, and compressed into mp4 files that can be uploaded into the on-line video library. The video library is a professional development tool, visible to School District staff and the public, and will be used during teacher professional development events and coaching sessions. Currently, the video library offers generalized strategies for instruction. We seek to create videos that are more targeted and content-specific, based on needs identified by the Office of Curriculum and Instruction, the Office of Early Childhood, and the Office of Student Support Services.
The video library is essential and connected to the District's priorities. The filming will enable us to capture practices that exemplify components of our instructional frameworks. The videos will support implementation throughout the District by serving as ad-hoc resources for teachers and a resource to contextualize the frameworks in professional learning sessions. The videos will allow us to record strong practices and share it as a resource when providing teachers with feedback as they navigate both in-person and remote teaching. These targeted videos will provide diverse opportunities for professional development to enhance teacher skill in service of the District's anchor goal #3. When used in training sessions, coaching meetings, and through individual viewing, these videos will help teachers improve their instruction and increase student achievement.
