Pennsylvania Department of Education’s (PDE’s) Basic Education Circular entitled, “Official Public School File,” issued pursuant to Section 10-1006 of the Public School Code, requires all school districts to inform PDE in writing of all new schools, closures, and grade changes annually.

 

In accordance with this requirement, each year, the District submits to the state a list of significant changes to the organization of its schools, including new school openings, school closings, school name changes, school relocations, and school grade reconfigurations. This action item officially authorizes the submission of these changes.

 

The changes being submitted for the 2020-21 school year are:

 

Grade reconfigurations:
Science Leadership Academy at Beeber expanding from grades 5-6, 9-12 to grades 5-7, 9-12

Strawberry Mansion High School changing from grades 9, 11-12 to grades 9-10,12
Vaux High School: A Big Picture School expanding from grades 9-11 to grades 9-12

 

Address Change:
Science Leadership Academy will change address from 550 N. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19130 to 1482 Green St, Philadelphia, PA 19130
