EW Rhodes raised money several years ago to purchase playground equipment, but did not have the necessary funds to pay for the installation at the time. The plan to install the equipment was additionally delayed because it was determined that a 2019 Capital Programs plan to repave the school lot should take place prior to the installation for the best overall results. Capital Programs has finished the repaving and funds have been secured to pay for the installation. The school is ready to proceed with a contract with George Ely to install the equipment and provide the rubber surfacing needed to ensure a safe environment for students. The playground will allow students at Rhodes to interact with one another and develop fine motor and social skills. Capital Programs has reviewed the work proposed by the vendor and has approved this project.
