Title: Contract with Partners in School Innovation - Professional Development

Action under consideration

 The Administration recommends that the Board of Education authorize The School District of Philadelphia, through the Superintendent or his designee, to execute and perform a contract, subject to funding, as follows: 

 With:
Partners in School Innovation 

 Purpose: 
Professional development, teacher coaching services, school leadership development, and other supports for the purpose of school transformation.

 Start date: 10/19/2018

 End date: 6/30/2019
 Compensation not to exceed: $265,000.00 
 Location: 
Duckrey, Tanner G. School; Wright, Richard R. School; and Bethune, Mary M. School

 Description:
The School District will receive services from the Partners in School Innovation Transformation Initiative for school transformation and improvement. As part of this program, Partners In School Innovation will provide additional supports to three participating schools through targeted professional development to improve instruction in core subjects aimed at improving student outcomes. The value of these services provided by Partners in School Innovation to the School District is $985,000. The cost of these services to the School District will be significantly offset by a grant from the William Penn Foundation to Partners In School Innovation.

 Anchor Goal(s) Supported: Anchor Goal 1 - 100% of students will graduate ready for college or career, Anchor Goal 2 - 100% of 8-year olds will read on or above grade level, Anchor Goal 3 - 100% of positions are filled by great principals, teachers and employees
